For Republican Legislators Who’ve Surrendered Their Responsibility

You bow your head enough, you’ll find your neck no longer works.

You’re not fit now to do more than perform as kneeling clerks

To that dishonest hypocrite whom you might whis’pring mock,

Though never where he’d hear you. No, you’d sooner stick a sock

In your own mouth than call out that gross monument to fraud.

By vulgar threats and bluster you’re quite simply overawed.

When history is written on some quiet, thoughtful day,

Assuming we don’t all burn up, get drowned, or blow away,

Your cowardice will be recorded, as will all the greed

That drove you to forsake the nation in this time of need.
